Field Marshall Douglas Haig (left) was pilloried post World
War One for the numbers of British soldiers killed under his generalship - even
though his tactics had no alternative and, what is more - he
WON!
Contrast this man to the appalling General
George Mcclellan who consistently threw away opportunities to win the American Civil War for
the Union. Had he taken them - the lives of hundreds of thousands would have
been saved.
He lost the Battle of Bull Run and failed to advance
at Yorktown, Antietam and countless other venues when he threw away a vast
numerical advantage.
Ulysses S Grant eventually took over. His losses were
not pretty - but he WON and thus prevented further losses.
WEAK GENERALSHIP COSTS
LIVES!
