First Test v The West Indies.

Let us hope that the Windies bat rather better than they bowled as England made a huge 511 for 8 declared at Edgbaston, yesterday.
Alastair Cook.
An astounding 243 from Cook - who seems to be enjoying his post-captaincy role - was added to Root's century who seems to be batting even better with the captaincy on his shoulders. Win-win.
England took one wicket before rain intervened last night - but with catches dropped by both Stokes and Ali - the England attack had already done enough to have had three of the Windies back in the hutch whilst the ball was still new.
England may pay a price today as their first ever pink ball gets older and offers ever less help to the bowlers.
