Can Test Cricket Be Played In England In September?

At Lords, yesterday, fourteen wickets fell in the day and it is difficult to assess who came the better out of that day's play.
The West Indies had won the toss and elected to bat.
With Jimmy Anderson firing, Roland-Jones bowling well and a phenomenal performance from Ben Stokes with a sixfer -  the visitors were skittled for a meagre 123 in under 60 overs.
Ben seemed pleased with his efforts.

Only Stuart Broad failed to bowl well as the low cloud conditions meant that the ball swung prodigiously for the other three seamers.
The only problem was that England were 4 down at stumps as they too found the autumnal conditions difficult to manage - aided by several examples of valuable wickets being carelessly cast away.
In what is going to be a very low scoring game, England must establish some sort of lead today.
With six wickets in hand and a deficit of 77 - if England could make it to 190 or better, I believe they would have command of a match which, at this point, looks as though it could easily end in under three days.
How shameful it would be for England to lose a match in typical English conditions because a number of county batsmen are already seeming to find the step up to international level rather too difficult.
