Bangladesh & The Terminally Well-Meaning.

Heaven protect us from do-gooders! - You know exactly who I mean: the wet, the dopey, the unthinking, the non-practical AND all of those whose well-meant actions cause more distress than success.
Sadly, far too many of these are Christians - actually trying their best.

We must all do as much good as we possibly can in this world but never fall into this dreadful trap.

Bangladesh is a case in point. Yesterday, I watched Simon Reeve's thought-provoking programme featuring Bangladesh.
Naturally, none of us want to see children working long shifts in industry for a paltry 30 pence per day. It is terrible and tragic.
But along come the do-gooders trying to outlaw the practice and before you know - these children have zero income and cannot even afford to buy the single bag of rice that they had previously managed to acquire. Starvation beckons for many families!

A Christian who was not a do-gooder would, of course, have campaigned for: wage increases; shorter hours; less dangerous workplaces AND would have had an alternative to offer.
The do-gooders are so desperate to have that warm glow of 'feel-good factor' that they leave inestimable damage in their wake.
In the UK - these are the self-same people who work in all fields to ensure that people are not made responsible for the consequences of their own actions. You will not be surprised to learn that almost all come from the ever-destructive liberal left!

Many Thanks GB News.

I really enjoyed your Carols By Candlelight!
