First Day of The Last Test at The Oval.

England, put in by Australia, made 271 for 8 by stumps.
It was a familiar pattern as wickets were cast away but there was some credit to Burns and Buttler but less so with skipper Joe Root who rode his luck after being dropped THREE times.
On a decent Oval pitch, England should have done rather better.
Well done to Number 10, Jack Leach, whose technique is far superior to that of many other so-called batsmen.

Quite So!
