England Lose Short NZ Series 1 - 0.

I have found it difficult to see as much of this last test as I might have hoped.
A 'batsman's paradise' simply means a pitch which does not offer sufficient to the bowler especially when using the awful Kookaburra ball!
England had done tolerably well to winkle the Kiwis out for 375 and to take a hundred lead. Burns did well to make a century again but Joe Root was back to form with a big double hundred.
Batting second, the Kiwis earned centuries for Taylor and Williamson but the game was to peter out as rain visited late in the day, yet again.
Root was probably vindicated in his decision to leave out our only regular spinner on a track like this one.
Neither the vaunted Sibley nor newcomer, Crawley, have done anything to suggest that they are future test cricketers. If Archer does not bowl regularly over 90mph, it is not worth including him.
Drawn game.
Oh, dear!
Much worse was Joe Denly's miss with Williamson on 62. Outfoxed by a Jofra Archer slower ball, Williamson lobbed the tamest of catches to mid-wicket, where Denly let the ball slip out of his fingertips in what was described by BBC cricket correspondent Jonathan Agnew as "the worst drop in Test history".
