Apart From The False Concept of 'Venial Sins' - Greg The Great Was Right To Promote The Idea of The Seven Deadly Sins.

There really aren't too many sins which fall outside the parameters of:

avarice, anger, envy, gluttony, lust, sloth and pride.

They pretty much underpin all of the things we do wrong - with 'pride' being our sins personally against God.

Pope Gregory The Great came up with this well-thought out list in 590 AD. 

I do not take too greatly to papal utterances - but credit where credit is due - a most useful checklist for believers.
