Blogger: I utterly despise Ofsted and all that they stand for. In the days of Her Majesty's Inspectorate, the Christian school which I helped to run was always marked to the highest of standards. Even the first two Ofsted inspections were fair-minded and thorough.
When criteria were then 'modified' - it rapidly became clear that there were a number of 'agendas' in place.
Can you imagine the fairness of them sending a Moslem, who seemingly despised our faith, as their principal inspector into an evangelical school?
(For those who do not understand the then ethos, the school took pupils from a variety of other religions and was never criticised by any parent from these groups on any religious issue whatsoever.)
When he criticised the school for things allegedly not done, we provided him with all the requisite evidence within 24 hours, whereupon he refused to even look at it and insisted that it could not be included.
He made up his own 'standards' for Religious Studies which were outside both what the exam board wanted and what Ofsted itself required.
He was so appalling to female staff that he reduced two to tears.
He sought out the two most disaffected pupils we possessed and took any malicious gossip against us as being fact.
We had evidence to refute remarks but again he refused to look at it.
Our assessment was quite poor by our own high standards.
We were given the chance to appeal, which we did - and our documented complaints were simply dismissed out of hand.
