My sleep was disturbed by noise outside the bedroom window. It was grunting and snuffling - I assumed it to be a fox. There are more than a few urban foxes around here.
I was wrong as there were two hedgehogs in a courtship dance in circles and figures of eight. I felt both blessed and privileged as I have never seen this before.
For a number of years we have had a dearth of hedgehogs but they now appear to be in full recovery. 😃
