How splendid to watch some of the Burns Night celebrations. Terrific to see a people promoting: their culture; their national pride and their sense of identity.
I have witnessed the same from many a grouping from Spain to Chile to Ireland. Great to see from folk songs to dance and national costumes.
How much all of this creates a true sense of community.
I watch the annual Notting Hill Carnival whenever I can. Super stuff!
Just the one tiny little problem, of course. This is so frowned upon by the mindless left who will always refer to such celebrations by the English - or indeed the British - as naked jingoism.
Such things can, naturally, be permitted but only if turned into a multicultural event which thoroughly adulterates the whole process.
Insidious, innit?
