The survey, consisting of 92 questions, was undertaken jointly by the Commission – led by President Ursula von der Leyen – and the European Parliament in October and November of last year – prior to the problems which have characterised the EU’s vaccine strategy.
Among other things it revealed:
- Just six percent of EU27 citizens hold a "very positive" image of the EU
- Just 41 percent said their image of the EU is "fairly positive"
- Just 34 percent of EU27 citizens believe the EU is going in the right direction
- Top concerns were migration (43 percent) and terrorism (39 percent). Express.
