Violent rapist who attacked pensioner in her own home is cleared for release by Parole Board.
Wendell Baker was only convicted following a second trial after the double jeopardy laws were introduced
A man who was convicted of raping and beating a pensioner before locking her in a cupboard has been cleared for release by the Parole Board.
After breaking her ribs, Baker locked her in a tiny cupboard under the stairs and she was only released 15 hours later when a neighbour noticed her milk was still on the step.
She spent three weeks in hospital but never fully recovered and died five years later in sheltered accommodation. DT.
