Sparking hope for Christian children

It is only November but, if you're anything like me, you'll be thinking about Christmas and New Year already. Hopefully this year will be closer to the Christmases we're used to, after a challenging year in 2020. For some Christian children, though, there will be an empty seat at the Christmas table - like Rafif's, whose dad was killed for his faith. You can find the link to her courageous story below.

It's hard to read about the persecution faced by Christian children around the world - but also inspiring and moving to read about their extraordinary bravery and hope. Let's make sure our MPs hear stories like theirs - by inviting them to the World Watch List 2022 launch in January (more info below). What a great opportunity to make sure our brothers' and sisters' voices are heard.

HOW RAFIF IS FINDING HOPE - AFTER HER DAD WAS KILLED

"I miss my dad, because he is not there at Christmas." Rafif's dad was killed by Islamic extremists in Iraq, who planted a bomb on a bus full of Christian students.

Now Rafif has an empty chair at her Christmas table - but she's found hope through education classes run by Open Doors partners.

Meet Rafif and watch her extraordinary story.

"THANK YOU FOR YOUR LOVE!": COVID AID TO LAOS

"Thank you very much for your love, kindness and faithful prayers - especially for the goods that you gave us. May God bless you!"

That's the message from Phoun, Fa and Daeng (names changed). They are among the 1,000 believers in Laos who are getting vital relief aid, thanks to you, as Covid-19 restrictions continue to have a severe impact.

HOW TO INVITE YOUR MP TO THE WORLD WATCH LIST LAUNCH

You have a great opportunity to make sure your MP learns more about Christian persecution. On 19 January 2022, MPs can hear first-hand from persecuted believers at the World Watch List 2022 parliamentary launch.

They'll also hear new research and recommendations - ensuring MPs are equipped to protect religious freedom around the world.

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN WRITE YOUR WILL FOR FREE?

Open Doors is currently partnering with Farewill, so you can write your Will for free - in as little as 15 minutes.

There's no obligation to leave a legacy to the work of Open Doors - though, of course, every legacy gift is a generous act of standing with future generations of the persecuted church.

Valerie (left) is an Open Doors supporter who found great peace of mind using the service - watch her story, or learn more about Farewill.
