Jobs for ...

 It would be to the benefit of our society as a whole - including many claimants - to put an end to the system where millions of natives are paid to stay at home and immigrants take over the jobs they might otherwise have filled.

What I continue not to see is why both the political left and the trade unions never offer a realistic solution to this problem. They frequently pretend that it does not even exist.
When cornered in argument, they inevitably attempt to divert the issue to attacks on 'the wealthy' as if this be the main problem.
The questions are entirely independent of each other.

Discouraging large sections of the population from working reduces their: dignity, purpose, self-worth and self-esteem as well as reducing their usefulness to society as a whole. 

The negatives are many across a spectrum as broad as from psychological damage to criminality.

I hope most Americans had a Godly Thanksgiving.
