I had already decided that I cannot, in conscience, vote Tory next summer.
If I had not already decided this, then the sacking of Suella would have confirmed it.
1) She was 100% correct about the feeble, politicised job not being done properly by our Police Service. Why not say it?
Contrast with this morning's interesting, post-sacking headline:
Rishi Sunak issues ultimatum to Met chief: Arrest vile anti-Semitic protesters immediately.
2) The police have undoubtedly been 'playing favourites' to pacify the singularly awful Sadiq Khan.
SACKED FOR TRUTH-TELLING!
As for the remarks about homelessness being 'a choice' - this was an overstatement rather than being downright wrong.
I have attended talks being given by people from homelessness charities on a number of occasions and have asked this very question as the matter had not been raised.
Each time the question was posed, I brought up the 'squaddies on the streets' issue and the speaker admitted that they did make up a significant portion. By and large, that group - often profoundly disturbed by moving from a highly disciplined life to one with no discipline at all - opted for the streets.
The combination with drugs and alcohol abuse added complexity to the whole of this matter.
It is a demonstrable fact that military life made the squaddies with problems the best fitted of all to make such a 'choice'.
