Richard Allen.

Richard Allen (February 14, 1760 – March 26, 1831)[1] was a minister, educator, and writer, and the founder in 1794 of the African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME), the first independent black denomination in the United States. He opened his first AME church in 1794 inPhiladelphia, Pennsylvania. He was elected the first bishop of the AME Church in 1816. Allen was one of America's most active and influential black leaders. He focused on organizing a denomination where free blacks could worship without racial oppression and where slaves could find a measure of dignity. He worked to upgrade the social status of the black community, organizing Sabbath schools to teach literacy, and promoting national organizations to develop political strategies.
Born into slavery, Allen had no formal education. As a young man in Delaware, he worked to buy his freedom. He went to Philadelphia in 1786, licensed as a Methodist preacher. He belonged for a time to St. George's Methodist Church, but he and his supporters resented its segregation and decided to leave the church. In 1787 he and Absalom Jones founded the Free African Society (FAS), a non-denominational, mutual aid society for blacks in Philadelphia, which particularly helped widows and children. Eventually they each founded independent black congregations in 1794. Wiki.

Nigel Farage Hit By Egg From Extremist.

Brilliant! That should be worth another 40,000 votes, if not more as against a £10 cleaning bill. When will these leftists grasp how truly stoopid they are being?
Ah. Yes, of course. Leftists getting sensible - SILLY ME. Apologies!

EU Interference To HAMMER Pensions In The UK?

The European Court of Justice rejected a legal challenge by Chancellor George Osborne against the proposed financial transaction tax on share and bond deals. The ruling effectively gave the go-ahead to the levy that City experts fear could wipe £3.6billion from British firms and dramatically shrink private pension pots.
Pensions adviser Dr Ros Altmann said: “There is a danger that the imposition of a tax on every transaction will make pensions smaller.“Any tax that takes money away from pensions is a danger to all of us. A tax on transactions will mean higher costs for customers.”
Chris Cummings, chief executive of financial services industry campaign group City UK, branded it a “tax on savings” and a “disincentive” to save. Mr Osborne was seeking to halt plans for the tax proposed by 11 eurozone countries including France and Germany and claimed it would breach EU single market rules.
But the Strasbourg-based court, the EU’s highest, dismissed his challenge as “premature” because the tax had not yet been launched. Express.

The Smears.

I note that in many areas, half the people plan to vote UKIP. One third, however,  believe the party to be 'racist'.
I am guessing that these two are rarely going to overlap.
It is incredible that the vile smears have done their job to such an extent - but seemingly only with leftists. The trouble is that there really aren't that many leftists out there!
It can only mean that as the Huff Post, Daily Mail et al have been polluting the brains of the simple-minded - more intelligent people have seen through it and moved to the UKIP cause as they have been peeved by the rank dishonesty of these appalling organs of the manipulative media.

Farage Not To Stand In Newark.

This is sensible. As I understand it, he would have to lose his MEP seat if elected at Westminster. He could only represent the seat for less than a year. There are probably better seats to target in 2015.

William Cowper.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:William_Cowper_by_Lemuel_Francis_Abbott.jpg
William Cowper (/ˈkuːpər/ koo-pər; 26 November 1731 – 25 April 1800)[1] was an English poet and hymnodist. One of the most popular poets of his time, Cowper changed the direction of 18th century nature poetry by writing of everyday life and scenes of the English countryside. In many ways, he was one of the forerunners of Romantic poetry. Samuel Taylor Coleridge called him "the best modern poet", whilst William Wordsworth particularly admired his poem Yardley-Oak. He was a nephew of the poet Judith Madan.
Although after being institutionalised for insanity in the period 1763–65, Cowper found refuge in a fervent evangelical Christianity, the inspiration behind his much-loved hymns, he often experienced doubt and after a dream in 1773 believed that he was doomed to eternal damnation. Later, he would recover and write more religious hymns.
His religious sentiment and association with John Newton (who wrote the hymn "Amazing Grace") led to much of the poetry for which he is best remembered. His poem "Light Shining out of Darkness" gave the English language the idiom "God moves in a mysterious way / His wonders to perform." Wiki.

Jacqui Smith On Smearing UKIP.

Former home office minister, Jacqui Smith, said she was apprehensive about branding Ukip racist. Recalling Gordon Brown's attack on the Rochdale pensioner Gillian Duffy, she said: "Did we not learn from 'bigotgate' in 2010 that there are many potential and actual Labour voters who feel all the frustrations and insecurities expressed by the Ukip poster campaign? Telling them they are wrong – and worse, closet racists – is unlikely to win their support".She said some of the sentiments in the Ukip poster reflected Labour policy. The Guardian.
