So. DEFRA is preparing to cull the monk parakeet in the south of the country because of the potential for damage by 'an alien species'.
(Let's hope that they do not extrapolate from this interesting logic!) The worst thing about their insularism however, is their downright refusal to cull the wretched magpie which is systematically wrecking our once lovely songbird population!
