When somebody loses their job and descends into debt
they deserve our full pity.
Indeed, there are many sets of circumstances which
lead people into debt through no fault of their own. They truly deserve
society's help.
There is a second category containing the silly, the

What should be done with these people is clearly to counsel them but practical
help can only be offered when it is clear that there has been an attitude

The third category is the worst of all. I refer to
these as malicious debtors. They use and wilfully abuse the money of others, are
destructive and enter debt with malice aforethought whilst treating bankruptcy
as their own personal panacea.
These are criminals and should be treated as such.
