Doing Penance.

If there is one thing which offends me to my spiritual core - it is the idea of 'doing penance' - or this ever having any possible spiritual value.
This is an insult to God. There is NOTHING whatsoever that we can do to 'earn salvation' in any manner at all.
Jesus said 'Tetelesti' - 'It is finished' - or in other translations, 'Paid in full'.
The only contribution we can make is to say 'yes' to Him and to repent!
Repentance is from the heart - not from external actions.
HE ALONE paid the price for our sins.
