Hopelessness Of The Young.

A third of British children who leave school with poor qualifications expect to "end up on benefits", new research has shown.
The Prince's Trust also found around one in five have "abandoned their ambitions" due to a lack of success at school, while those with fewer than five GCSEs are almost twice as likely as their peers to believe that they will "never amount to anything".
The survey of people aged 16-25 has prompted the trust to call for more vocational support for those leaving school with few qualifications, to help them into jobs. Huff Post.
Having encountered these young people who fail throughout my entire working life, I must say that the majority do so because they have had no work ethic at school and thus make themselves unemployable.
Once again - there are few consequences for failure in our society. All they have to do is settle for a modest life - and the state will reward their failures.
We must reincentivise these young people. A workfare programme must become the norm for those who do not prepare themselves adequately for the working life.
Surely it is not beyond the wit of man to devise rigorous programmes to have these youngsters earn their benefits. It could hardly cost the nation a great deal more than the current, society-destroying mess and could aid a restoration of pride, dignity at the same time as restoring the rundown fabric of our poorer communities.
Idleness cannot be accepted as an option - must not be. If they do not like it then they must begin their own small businesses serving the public.
The present setup is a breeding ground for social decay - and what's more - Mr Beveridge would have agreed with me wholeheartedly!

England Recovery? - Surely Not.
