Five Christians have been killed and six have been injured, one
critically, in a series of assaults by Islamist extremists.
In Wajir, north-east Kenya, Al
Shabaab militants shot a group of
Christians at a money-transfer shop, then set off an explosion on March 17. Four
Christians died in the attack and one was seriously injured: all had come to
Wajir from central Kenya to work in construction.
Two days earlier, one Christian was killed and three others injured in
Mandera when Al
Shabaab gunmen attacked them near
their workplace.
In Hindi village in coastal Lamu County, a brother and sister in their
20s were attacked at their home – less than a year after their father was
murdered. He was among at least 13 people killed in Hindi in July 2014
(Prayer Alert, July 10).
