Executions In Pakistan.

With 8,000 on death row in Pakistan, it is little wonder that there is soon to be a spate of executions to clear the decks, as it were. For the murderers, terrorists, drugs traffickers and indeed, rapists, I have few problems with justice being exercised. BUT, never let us forget that there are people in Pakistan such as Asia Bibi who are included for the most spurious of religious reasons. We must also be concerned by the inevitably large numbers of political prisoners who face the noose.
If the likes of Amnesty were not to oppose executions wholesale but were to target only the genuine cases of injustice, they would earn my unstinting support.
