The Appleby horse fair sees around 40,000 travellers from across the
world descend for the seven day festival.
This year's raucous event in Cumbria saw two horses killed while racing
and three people injured in an attempted robbery.
Now locals will have the arduous task of clearing of debris, including
cardboard boxes, bin bags and food waste, which cover what was once unspoiled
fields.
