When Eddowes, Ludo Kennedy and assorted abolitionists decided to declare that Timothy Evans had been wrongly hanged because a nearby neighbour, John Christie, was also a killer back in the early 50s, this was readily accepted as fact. The named pair, however, over-egged their pudding by taking a weak contention and adding dishonestly, material to the debate which was simply not true whilst leaving out many relevant facts.
Eddowes' son, John, was so upset by the created myth that he had a book published debunking his father's deceits and those of Kennedy. 'The Two Killers of Rillington Place' is the definitive volume on the matter - with the advantage of having been written from the inside of the wantonly deceitful campaign.
Nobody reading this can possibly doubt the guilt of Evans - with the exception, of course, of the BBC who wish to peddle debunked dishonesty as fact and are producing a drama based on imagination.
