Well. I have heard all the hype about this programme and so I made a point of watching it late last night (recorded).
For those who have yet to see it - let me explain.
It is yet another cookery programme BUT with yet another competitive edge in which, yet again, we can see but cannot smell, taste or experience the products. (It rather reminds of when snooker was on BBC before the advent of colour telly!)
The pompous, self-righteous, opinionated judges were wretched - and but for a certain bonhomie in their demeanour when dealing with the 'bakers' all looked in need of a good slap.
One of the things which niggled me was that, last night, they were given the task of making Yorkshire Pudding and churros.
Yet more than a few had to make 'fancy' items which bore little resemblance to either. But doing that apparently did not see you marked down.
Originality is one thing - but sacred foods like churros and Yorkshire Pudding should not be messed with. A number of the 'bakers' were incapable of making the basic product.
Before breaking rules, being able to do the basics is essential.
BTW - my wife makes better Yorkshires than any of 'em! (The secret is less in fine tuning the batter than in using stoneware for cooking the product in the oven.)
No. TGBBO was a tedious letdown.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
