Alive After Five - retailers open their doors until 7pm
on Thursdays
Exciting news for Sheffield residents, workers and
visitors - from Thursday October 27, late evening shopping will
be available in the city centre as well as the great bars, restaurants, clubs
and entertainment opportunities the city is already well-known for.
So
this Thursday there is no need to rush home at 5pm after a day in the office,
studying or visiting the town centre. Instead take the time to check out what's
happening in the centre with friends, work colleagues or
family.
Sheffield Business Improvement District (BID) has been working
with businesses on Fargate, Division Street and The Moor to create a real city
centre early evening atmosphere which we will all benefit from.
And for
the first phase of the new Alive After Five campaign, city centre stores now
signed up for Thursday night opening until at least 7pm include:
A New
Shop, Alt Seen Eye, Argos, Boots, Cross Eyes, HMV, Hotel Chocolat, Holland and
Barrett (The Moor), Lush, Marks and Spencer, Office, Pandora, Paperchase, Ryman
Stationery, Thorntons, Three, Top Shop, Melody, Vulgar, Within Reason and All
Good Stuff. Nottingham Building Society and HSBC will join the campaign early in
November.
These are in addition to the retailers already open until at
least 7pm which include:
Budgens, Caffe Nero, Costa Coffee, Greggs, Oisoi
Oriental Food Market, McDonalds, Patisserie Valerie, Poundland, Primark,
Sainsbury’s Local, Specsavers, Starbucks, Subway, Tesco Express, TK Maxx, Virgin
Money.
Also coming up in the next few weeks - the fairground rides will
be on Fargate from Friday October 21 until Sunday October 30. They will be open
until 6pm every night and until 7pm on Thursday October 27.
On Friday
October 28 the new 80,000 sq ft flagship Primark store opens on The Moor (and
will open until 7pm every weekday).
And from Thursday November 3 the
Global Village Market will be on Fargate until Sunday November 6. It will be
open until 6pm every night and until 7pm on Thursday.
And
there's a lot more to come.
