A century from out of form skipper Joe Root added to a fine innings from Joe Denly and England are bearing down on a lead of 500 runs with two days remaining in which to bowl out the home side on a deteriorating wicket.
It seems improbable that anything other than bad weather could prevent a mighty England win.
Sadly, it appears that Keaton Jennings has thrown away his chance to cement a place in the side.
I think that I can state with a degree of certainty that he will not be playing in the Ashes this summer.
