Mole-In-The-Know is back!
The question in the title is a very serious one as MITK will aver. I have also kept my ear to the ground with people in the know and there are a fair number of the opinion that Nigel does not want the Tories to win - although it seems rather difficult to see what game is being played here.
There is a much propaganda being fed to members within the BP that the May deal has simply been recycled by Boris. This has been accepted as holy writ.
A large number of voters have accepted this falsehood as fact WITHOUT CHECKING. The mantra within the party is that 'it is not a Brexit at all.'
MITK can announce that a certain very senior BP member (not himself a candidate) was invited to check the differences and tick them off, one by one. He was astonished to recognise something that was not too far away from being the Brexit we all voted for.
This senior figure - a man who is experienced enough to know better - had simply accepted the newspeak as fact. Having read the relevant literature, it gave him quite an epiphany.
This Blogger feels that Nigel has not played his cards all that well. One would probably assume that he is trying to secure the longer term future of the BP as now being his primary aim when he should have been working on the political declaration to improve the Boris deal. There is considerable scope to do so.
(The more cynical are saying that a Tory delivery of Brexit would leave Nigel out of the limelight he so craves. I fear that no Boris Brexit and Nigel will shoulder all of the blame!)
The BP splitting the leave vote in Labour marginals is potentially a disaster for the UK.
I applaud the BP candidate for Dudley North for his withdrawal - may there yet be others.
MITK states that, in the back channels between Tories and the BP, Nigel has actually offered nothing that Boris could accept without the total alienation of significant sections of his own party.
Some might point to the 317 Tory seats where Mr Farage has graciously chosen not to stand BUT word-on-the-street has it that his hand was totally forced by the Tory Press.
In negotiations, Nigel had to clear the way in all Labour marginals where the BP could not win. The suggested figure has apparently been 70 seats.
Had Nigel offered this, Boris could have justified offering 20 in Labour heartlands for Nigel to scrap over. Just why is Nigel fielding candidates in seats that will inevitably revert to Labour by the standing of his candidates, we must all ask?
Taking this route, there will probably be zero BP candidates elected - I pray I am wrong but that seems highly improbable if you do a psephological analysis as so many respected pollsters already have.
Consider Hartlepool - with a Tory standing and perhaps taking some 8,000 votes (again) the BP cannot win. This is a seat which is massively pro-BP but one that they are not going to be able to take. Solid 'leave' but it will stay with Labour.
Hartlepool is the best example but there are several dozen others not too far away from that scenario.
In the Labour marginals, we have to hope that the Lib Dems will split the Labour vote at the same time as the BP splits the Tory vote.
Should that occur - even taking a dozen of those marginals might still be on for the Tories.
My vote will have no value whatsoever but, with heavy heart, I now feel obliged to cast it for the Tories.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
