Why Vote UKIP?
Is UKIP some sort of white knight on a gleaming charger riding to the rescue of our country?
Fraid not. It is just an ordinary party of pretty average, very decent people - and more than a smattering of practising Christians.

So. Some 42% of shoppers are either downright thieves or at best, would-be pilferers. (And that excludes the ones who have failed to admit to the truth!) I wonder how many of these are the first to complain if something is 'nicked' from their gardens?

| There may be better out there but I just don't see it! There is a chance that he was originally a politically correct appointment. If that is true - it certainly backfired big-style! I AM disgusted and saddened to read (Yorkshire Post, April 23) that Dr John Sentamu has reportedly been the victim of malicious racism just because he is in the running to become the next Archbishop of Canterbury. John Sentamu is just what the Church in this country needs – a breath of fresh air. A man of God who is not afraid to speak out in a way that everyone understands and who stands firmly by the teachings of the word of God and of whom the Press have taken notice many times. Well, I for one hope that he is chosen to be Archbishop of Canterbury. God Bless him. The ultimate decision is in God’s hands anyway.  |
Leftist Onslaught.
Last night I was pondering just how much leftist propaganda has been rammed into school pupils and students over the decades.
Consider too the relentless onslaught of political correctness running back decades into the rest of us through: comedy, drama, news programmes and the media in general.
Isn't it truly AMAZING how many people have NOT fallen prey to all this social poison?
TBH - with all the massive input they've had - our leftie friends should really be doing better than they have been doing.
Maybe good ole horse sense is even more powerful than we have given it credit for being!

Ironically, what was absolute tosh then (even if there were odd pointers available) - has now become hard fact. We have three liberal-left parties squabbling over the same ground.
So, when one of these three announces that a 'vote for UKIP is a wasted vote' they are living in terror of people actually starting to think about what has happened to our society at the hands of these people.
Even if UKIP will find it incredibly difficult to take any FPTP seats in the coming council elections - we must still vote for them.
In Sheffield we frequently beat BNP, Greens and Conservatives in coming third behind Labour &Lib Dems. If people persist we can begin totake second places - and from that point, the leap to winning council seats is not so great.
IT IS A PROCESS.
Maybe your UKIP candidate isn't going to win but you do not help by wasting a vote 'rearranging the deckchairs on The Titanic' with LibLabCons - and REMEMBER that a vote for the Greens is effectively a vote for marxism!

House Of Lords Reform.
I have mixed views on this issue, the main temptation being to embrace the sound principle of 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it.'
Sadly, as this flies in the face of democracy (and democrat am I) its survival seems unlikely.
That there are hereditary peers is an archaic nonsense - but we must admit that the system of 'checks and balances' has worked ridiculously well.
That there be experts co-opted seems to me quite reasonable.
My feeling would probably be for an elected upper chamber by proper PR. The trouble is that such a system continues closed party politics, whips et al. That is maybe better than 'aged party apparatchiks being put out to grass', however.
The thought of a massive UKIP presence - which would be inevitable under PR - is most appealing.

Crackers! As a non-smoker, I still cannot cope with this kind of persecution. To bring balance - I wonder just how draconian penalties for possessing cannabis will need to become? 20 year sentences, perhaps?

The 92-year-old Briton, who also developed the Gaia theory of the Earth as a single organism, has said climate change is still happening - just not as quickly as he once warned.
Five years ago, he had claimed: 'Before this century is over billions of us will die and the few breeding pairs of people that survive will be in the Arctic where the climate remains tolerable.'
But in an interview with msnbc.com, he admitted: 'I made a mistake.'
