Royal Commission Needed.

The UK is well up the top third list of international expenditure on health.

We really could do to spend more but until the grotesque profligacy with public monies is addressed, I have no desire to see any more waste of of our taxation. (It was once said that for every £million put into the top of the NHS, £50k makes into actual patient care. The truth of this I do not know but, tragically, it seems more than probable.))
Top funding has utterly failed us. This means that the government pours money into the top of the NHS and crosses its fingers that sufficient will filter down to cover all necessary patient care and can offer sufficient to attract people into the medical profession.

As a nation we have universities spewing out Mickey Mouse degrees with Sociology (Marxism in a pretty poor disguise) and Media Studies being amongst the worst. There are countless more.
Why a shortage of places for Nursing and Medicine?
Why not savagely reduce the MM Degrees and use the plentiful savings to train and remunerate medical professionals?
Why are we enticing nurses and doctors from Third World nations to attempt to cover our shortfall?
My stats aren't up to date on Malawi but I do know that they have pathetically few nurses and doctors - as those that the did have, have been poached by Western nations such as the UK.

NHS
There needs to be a Royal Commission set up to investigate abuse of taxpayers' cash, especially where the following are concerned:
1) Unnecessary admin.
2) Purchasing policy.
3) Pricing of agency staff.
4) Funding of political correctness ahead of medical care.
5) Rampant bureaucracy.
6) Self-perpetuating offices serving no real function.
7) Managers and juniors who make no difference whatsoever to the running of hospitals must be made to retrain as medics or resign.
8) To consider all the possibilities and ramifications in bottom funding as a major reform.
9) Monies to follow the patient so that those hospitals and clinics which attend to the needs of the most patients will automatically receive the most funding.
When the needs of the patient are linked to incoming monies - efficiency will always be rewarded - a super incentive to put patient needs first.
10) The NHS must be depoliticised.

Glory To God.

Billy Bray - A Great Christian.

Billy Bray was born in 1794 in the village of TwelveheadsCornwall, England, UK. He was the eldest of three children born to William Bray, who was a miner, and his wife Ann, who came from Gwennap. William Bray died when his children were young and they were cared for by their grandfather, who was a pious Methodist. After leaving school, Billy Bray worked as a miner in Cornwall and for seven years in Devon; during this time he was a drunkard and was prone to riotous behaviour. In 1821 he married Joanna, who was a lapsed Methodist and they eventually had seven children.

In 1823 he had a close escape from a mining accident, and later said that he was converted in November of that year through reading John Bunyan's Visions of Heaven and Hell. He became attached to a group of Methodists known as the Bible Christians, and became a well-known but unconventional preacher; his sermons being enlivened by spontaneous outbursts of singing and dancing. Bray did not restrict his activities to preaching, raising two orphans along with his own children and generously giving help to other people. He also raised enough funds to build three new Methodist chapels, one in his home village of Twelveheads, one at Carharrack, and one—nicknamed 'Three Eyes' chapel because of its three windows—at nearby Kerley Downs.
Bray died in 1868 and is buried at the parish church of Saint Michael and All Angels in Baldhu where his grave is marked by a granite obelisk. In 1984 the 'Three Eyes' chapel, the only one of the three he built that is still standing, was dedicated to his memory. Wiki.

Whenever Possible and Reasonable - Help Our Nation!

Buy British.

Why do British people not try to buy British goods?
Buying (Chinese?) imports is not compulsory.

Obviously if there are major issues of price, availability and
value - you buy what is best for your budget and convenience.
BUT - just imagine what a mere 10% average shift to purchasing British goods would
achieve for the economy.
I fully realise that the 'Buy British' campaigns of yesteryear
became illegal for governments under EU legislation. (Which
raises another apparent issue! Why has this not been corrected
 in the last seven years?)
Pass the message on and see if you could aim for a 20%
shift in your shopping - why don't you?

'My Most Clean.'

'He will easily be content and at peace, whose conscience is pure.' Thomas Kempis.

Blogger: and where that 'conscience' is not so - we know a man who can help do something about it - don't we?
Reading his 'Imitation of Christ'  35 years ago was one of the most difficult projects I have ever embarked upon -  tough going but well worth it.
Today I go to Communion - and that is the point when I emerge personally refreshed and 'at my most clean'.

Published on This Blog in 2012. ALL of These Areas Have Worsened Considerably.

What Have We Done To The Next Generation?

Our children and grandchildren are
in big trouble compared to the last
 two generations.
We have:
Saddled them with impossible debts.
Failed To educate them properly.
Have made drugs attractive.
Ensured that most will not be able to ascend 'the property ladder.
Gifted many of their jobs to
 immigrants.
Insisted that they take 'dumbed
down' degree courses at massive
personal expense.
Proved to them that 'crime pays'.
Made certain that none will be able to retire before the age of at least 70.
Taught them 'the state will always bail you out' however heinous or foolish the actions
committed.
Given them inappropriate educations to their abilities in 'apprehensive' schools.
We have ensured that most will face lengthy periods of unemployment during their lives.
We have turned a once great nation into a laughing stock.
We did them the grave disservice of joining the EU.
We attempted to create 'a multicultural society' instead of an integrated one.
Christianity has been downgraded to a 'quirky minority sport' - with added persecution and is
never presented as the solution to so many social issues.
I could obviously go on ad nauseam! Isn't it interesting though,  just how much of all this has originated DIRECTLY in the left of politics?
Today - look how many Tories have joined this stampede to social disaster.

Josephus.

Josephus The Facetious.

'Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful
to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher
of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ. And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us,
had condemned him to the cross , those that loved him at the first
did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third
day , as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named for him, are not extinct at this day.'
(Not a believer - this Jew worked for the Emperor Vespasian and was considered a traitor. His tone is obviously mocking but it gives
a clear, independent source of the basic origins of Christianity.)
You really would not believe the lengths that atheists have gone to in FAILING ABSOLUTELY to undermine this. There have been wild claims of: additions, distortions, Christian dishonesty.
Funny how they only ever go onto this level of attack when cornered, innit?

How Can This EVER Be Right?

Why some workers will pay 93pc tax.

Pay rises will be swallowed up by the erosion of tax allowances after the Autumn Statement
Some workers are paying an effective top tax rate of 93 per cent, a new analysis has shown.
Taxpayers crossing certain tax thresholds will see pay rises “arbitrarily” and “unfairly” swallowed up by the erosion of tax allowances and benefits. They could effectively be taxed at rates as high as 60pc – or even 93pc.
The tax burden has been made worse by Jeremy Hunt's Autumn Statement, which lowered the starting level for top-rate tax from April next year.
An extra 232,000 taxpayers are now expected to pay additional rate tax as a result, joining the existing 600,000 or so people already caught.
Many people in high-paying sectors such as law, banking and software development often earn high salaries while still paying off their student loans.
Mike Warburton, the Telegraph's tax columnist and a former director at Grant Thornton, said today's so-called marginal tax rates were the highest since 1979.
He said: "These high marginal tax rates are the result of politicians attempting to limit tax relief and benefits for those on higher incomes. This may be understandable politically but it both adds to complexity and provides a disincentive to work extra hours."
These high marginal rates – which only apply to portions of your income – are the result of successive governments tweaking the tax system and clawing back benefits that their predecessors have introduced.
The personal allowance is tapered away at a rate of £1 for every £2 of income for those earning between £100,000 and £125,140, which works out at an effective 60pc tax rate.
But once earners earn more than £125,140 and, from April 2023, pass into the additional-rate bracket, they will not only start paying income tax at 45pc but also lose their personal allowance of £12,750 completely.

It Happens.

Murder Most Foul In Ukraine.

The bodies of a Ukrainian Evangelical church leader and his 19-year-old son have been discovered in a forest. They had been tortured and killed, four days after being abducted by Russian soldiers.

According to the Kharkiv Human Rights Protection Group and the Global Investigative Journalism Network, father and son were abducted by Russian soldiers at 7pm on November 22, while they were working in their garage, close to Kherson.
The reasons for their abduction are not known.
Tortured and shot
Four days later, the family were told that their bodies had been discovered in a nearby forest. Anatoliy Prokopchuk (52) and his son, Oleksandr had been tortured and shot.
Release International’s partner in Ukraine, ‘Pavel’ says Anatoliy was a deacon and preacher at a Pentecostal church in the city of Nova Kakhova, which is close to Kherson.
According to Pavel, when the Russian troops arrested them, the soldiers claimed: ‘Your church has no right to exist, as it has connections with America and other western countries.’
For four days, the family were denied news of what had happened to them. Then on November 26, the dead bodies of the men were found outside the town.
Says Release International partner Pavel: ‘Their bodies had signs of prolonged and excruciating torture. They were so mutilated that it was difficult to identify them.’
Blogger: just because some atrocities have been committed, this does not mean that this foul conduct is endemic amongst all Russian troops.

Check The Court Facts NEVER The Propaganda.

Edith Thompson's lover stabbed her husband to death in January 1923. He was hanged.

It is a popular tale amongst abolitionists that Edith was innocent. Her hanging was 'a miscarriage of justice'. 'She hadn't given huge support to her lover.'
Read the facts of the trial - not the Guardian and the gutter press.
You would have to admit that, had you been a juror, you would have had no other option than to have found this calculating woman guilty.
This was the first real attempt by abolitionists to pretend that a guilty person was actually innocent in order to discredit the death penalty. Four more significant attempts were made in the UK. All deeply flawed.

Pele RIP.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a forward. Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and labelled "the greatest" by FIFA, he was among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.

Blogger: I saw Pele playing live in this match. Awesome.

Laud.

 William Laud.

'The Lord receive my soul, and have mercy on me, and bless this kingdom with peace and charity, that there may not be this effusion of Christian blood amongst them.' William Laud  -  disgracefully and shamefully executed by the parliamentary faction at the time of The English Civil War. (And, no. I have precious little sympathy for the fate meted out to that egregious shedder of innocent blood, Charles The First, who met a similar and considerably more justifiable end.)

Good Grief!
