Basic misconceptions.

'Socialism is caring'. - If you only glimpse the beast and listen to its own self-serving propaganda, this is an easy mistake to make. So many believe that it is compassionate - but only because the thing itself tells us so often that this is the case.
Compassion and extreme bossiness do not fit well together; the ubiquitous malice that permeates its wicked way throughout leftwing politics should give us all a clue and 'Robin Hood economics' is based on the legalising of theft.
Furthermore, because socialism is largely undiscriminating in the way it targets its social benefits - countless ordinary people are taxed into the ground finding money for others who frequently do not actually need their contribution - which is profoundly immoral.

'The opposite of socialism is hardline and uncaring'. - You really have to hand it to the left - their propaganda machine is superb. All you have to do is to suggest - or even hint - that there might possibly be a better way, to be branded as an antediluvian, reactionary, heartless fascist. You will be shouted down to such an extent that you will feel guilty for speaking; leftwing hatred will be 'fed'; many ordinary folk will begin to parrot the leftwing line like sheep transported directly from Orwell's 'Animal Farm'.
'Right of centre' and the 'hard right are poles apart. Listening to the left, you might be forgiven for thinking that they lie in the very same bed.
