Last night, it appears that somebody died under the wheels of a train on which the Radio Humberside presenter, Andy Comfort, was travelling.

He described the horrors of the event calmly and with genuine compassion for all involved. Well handled, sir.

Following Jeremy Clarkson's unkind comments about those who commit suicide on the rail network, I really am irked by such attitudes.

Of those who take their own life - and I make no conclusion as to what occurred last night - few tend to do so because of 'selfish reasons'. The majority have simply 'reached the end of their tether' or are suffering severe mental problems.

Please be charitable. There is absolutely nothing worse for any family than a suicide within it.
