If, as seems to be the case, belt tightening is going to become the norm for working people in coming years - and possibly decades - this may well be very bad news indeed for leftwing parties.

Put at its most simple - if you are struggling to get by on a moderate income, your demands for governments not to be profligate with our money will become unstoppable. If administrations do not listen to the voters what will be done to punish them?

Well naturally, my suggestion would be to vote UKIP!
