Worrying Failure To Cut Public Sector Spending.

Despite repeated Government claims to be cutting public expenditure, the study by the Centre for Policy Studies found that the Coalition has made just 6 per cent of its planned cuts to current expenditure for this Parliament.
The report by the centre-right think tank also revealed that although the overall deficit has dropped by 25 per cent, this was almost entirely down to punitive tax rises and cuts in investment spending – rather than cuts to public spending.
