TEACHERS MUST NOT MARK THE WORK OF THEIR OWN PUPILS! It has always caused problems as well as turning teachers into UNPAID slaves of the examination boards. Marking these assessments et al can take weeks out of an overworked teacher's year.
Bad in some subjects over years, in English it has been especially gruelling.
