How do you reach the
missing generation of young adults?
National Christian charity Youth for
Christ has launched a new resource that aims to make a
difference.Ethos is a series of short films launched on YouTube
and the YFC website that speak into the issues affecting young
adults.Statistics show that the number of people in their 20s
attending church halved between 1985 and 2005.In response to
this decline YFC, whose national director is Baptist minister Gavin Calver, says
it has invested time, energy and resources into how it might make a difference
and be part of seeing this change. It believes that while disillusioned with
church, this missing generation 'pursue comfort and happiness like almost
nothing else. They have a consumerist outlook yet crave real
community.'Looking at the pursuit of comfort and happiness,
consumerism and community among other topics, Ethos asks questions and aims to
spark discussion and thought among young adults. The resource is
free resource, and is designed to 'inspire, stir, challenge and help young
adults follow Jesus'.YFC's head of innovation and empowerment,
Phil Knox said, 'We believe God is the answer to every one of generation Y's
deepest needs.
Self explanatory title. I abhor that nicey nicey, politically correct, pseudo-Christianity which almost always supports leftwing attitudes - which in most cases are profoundly anti-Gospel. This Blog supports persecuted Christians. This Blog exposes cults. This Blog opposes junk science. UPDATED DAILY. This is not a forum. This Blog supports truly Christian websites and aids their efforts. It is hardhitting and unashamedly evangelical so if it offends - please do not come to this site!
