Lincoln’s Member of Parliament, Karl McCartney MP wants to reduce access to benefits by single mothers.
On Radio Humberside today, he spoke sense when stating that benefits should only be available to those who either live with parents or live in hostels.
This is a line which this Blog has long advocated.
As a rider - those who objected to the idea (the usual suspects, of course) were very quick to claim the need for MORE sex education. (As usual.)
I despair. When sex ed' in mainstream schools will not consider 'preaching abstinence' - how can this possibly work?
Do they honestly and truly believe that there is any girl out there who does not know what causes babies?
When there is NO moral base - how can this work?
Humberside was inundated with calls from those in the system who were able to outline the abuses of that system. Undoubtedly, it encourages single girls to get pregnant.
If you are so muddleheaded as a society not to grasp these realities then at least, please preach RESPONSIBILTY.
