A prediction
that “conservative evangelicalism” will survive in the Christian church,
liberalism will die out and mainline protestant denominations will not survive,
has been made by Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali in an interview published on the Anglican
website Virtue Online.
Commenting on the future of the Christian church, Bishop Nazir-Ali told journalist, David Virtue: “The mainline protestant denominations will do their Cheshire cat act. What will survive may be an orthodox form of Anglicanism which is allied to Pentecostalism, conservative Anglicans or the Ordinariates. I can’t see mainline protestant denominations surviving. They will not be influential.” Christian Concern.
