French president to receive prize for EU 'vision'.
By EUOBSERVER. French president Emmanuel Macron is set to receive the Charlemagne prize on Thursday (10 May). Martin Selmayr, the European Commission's secretary-general, in a tweet said Macron will receive the prize "in recognition of his vision of a new Europe". The announcement follows widespread protests in France against reforms currently being steered under Macron.
