Peter Firmin RIP.

Puppet legend behind Bagpuss and The Clangers dies aged 89.

TRIBUTES were paid last night to Peter Firmin, the creator of TV classic The Clangers, who has died aged 89. Firmin created several children’s favourites – including Bagpuss, Basil Brush and Ivor The Engine – with skilfully-crafted characters such as the Soup Dragon and Iron Chicken.
