England Take Short T20 Series - And In Style!

At a 114 for five with just four overs remaining, England looked dead and buried.
Step forward Sam Billings of Kent who was largely responsible for England's huge recovery to reach a very challenging target of 182 for 7. Billings scored a fine 87 before being out on the final ball of the innings.
Predicted totals of around 135 in the first half of the innings, as England had thrown away early wickets with abandon in the face of some decent bowling, seemed pretty accurate.
182 was a mighty recovery which made England narrow favourites to win and to take the trophy by 2 - 0 with one match remaining.
To control the Windies, when it was their turn at the crease, looked a tricky task - especially if Chris Gale were to fire on four cylinders or Hetmyer were to hit his straps.
They did not!
David Willey began the rot with a couple of wickets, Chris Jordan plundered four more with his best bowling display for England. The excellent Rashid took two more as Plunkett also hit form with a brace.

Wickets fell; more wickets fell; the remaining wickets fell too.
The Windies were utterly routed as England skittled them for a derisory 45 and won the game by the impossible-to-imagine margin of 137 runs.
Phew!

A Verse of Great Encouragement.
