Obituary: A Great Man of God and My Friend.

Alan Fenton-Smith, who went to be with his Jesus yesterday, was one of the most outstanding Christians I have ever met. His quiet grace and deep love for his fellow man was certainly the most exceptional that I have encountered during my lifetime.
Pastor, preacher, prayer warrior, church founder, school governor, expounder of the Gospel both in the UK and worldwide were just a handful of the things he did for his Lord.
He would sit next to somebody on a bus or a plane or in a hospital corridor and they felt the need to pour out their heart to him.
It was a mighty spiritual gifting and one which allowed him to witness to the wonders of the Living Christ to hosts of individuals in his lifetime.
When I first met him some thirty years ago, he struck me as unreal and somewhat otherworldy. But that was before I got to know the man. Has there ever been a Christian more 'real', I wonder?
His departure leaves an exceedingly deep hole in my life.
