Actions have consequences.

Possibly the most important physical thing we do during our all too brief stay on this planet is to mate and continue the species.
The creation of life is a thing of awe; something of wonder and magnificence and yet our modern world has wantonly devalued it; demeaned it and stripped it of value and meaning.

In the name of sexual freedom, we have determined that the consequences of getting pregnant when unmarried; when not able to offer a stable home environment should be minimal to the one who gets pregnant, as well as to the father and to the parents of the irresponsible.

Consequences are minimised by that horror which is abortion; by the allocation of housing and benefits to those whose irresponsibility we cover but unwanted pregnancies continue to multiply in our ever failing society.

There are solutions which would have the liberal do-gooders going apoplectic - but I could live with the thought!

They have us over a moral barrel by saying that 'we must not harm the illegitimate children - as it is not their fault'. And they are quite right.
I am unconvinced that hosts of teens being fed into council flats along with their fatherless offspring who are brought up learning to live off benefits is that much of a solution. The situation is greatly exacerbated when the single mother recognises the advantages from the benefits system of having even more children brought up in an environment which breeds crime, educational failure, drug abuse and a perpetuation of this appalling situation.
The circle of dependency must be broken. Little can be done with the current crop of single mothers but teenagers from now onwards should be told that benefits for irresponsibility will be massively reduced. Having children in undesirable environments must be discouraged by the state which must take most of the blame for having devalued marriage.

In future there should be very few benefits for unmarried mothers. Grandparents must take their part of the responsibility or the girls must go into hostels where they will be supplied with a basic care for themselves and professional care to ensure that their children do not grow up to be truly disadvantaged as is currently the case and allows so many children to drift tragically into the underclass.
Such actions would act as a major disincentive.

A morally based sex education is essential and the consequences of pregnancy must be spelled out.
The virile young studs who are so eager to have sex without consequences need to be brought to account and find that their ever willing supply of sexual partners is suddenly curtailed.

If any say that the abortion rate would rise as a consequence - I must note that even if the terms of the 1968 Abortion Act were kept to the letter, in such circumstances, abortion rates would plummet.

Adoptions for childless couples should be freed from the constraints of the present political correctness which beset them.

If that were done, the feminist slogan of 'every child a wanted child' would have little currency in the abortion debate.

I have made suggestions to disincentivise this appalling damage done to our society. If you do not like my ideas - come up with something better!
At least mine would work without being too unfair to the individuals nor to the society which has to pick up the tab in every direction.
