Monnet: The Egregious Enemy of Democracy and Delighter in Tyranny.

The Kaiser's Operational Plan 3 was a proposed attack on the USA; Bulow and Tirpitz had declared publicly 'German rights to empire-building'; their grand scheme was to attack the UK's wider reaches of empire as these would eventually be stretched on the Western Front.

All this of course, in addition to the Schlieffen Plan from the turn of the century as mentioned in an earlier posting .

Who can gainsay the Kaiser's clear and malicious intentions? (Apart from leftwing historians, of course!)

If however, post Great War, you portray World War One as having arisen from a mere, unfortunate failure of diplomacy - it gives the opportunity to mischievously suggest that it had happened because of the existence of such things as 'nation states'.

Be under no illusions - when the profoundly sinister Jean Omer Marie Gabriel Monnet and cronies helped start these misrepresentations - it was always with a longterm view to a Europe - and ultimately world - under a single government. (His personal history is one of cheating and dishonesty.)
