Adam.

I don't care whether you have a belief in Genesis as literal or no - there is one factor in the early chapters of that book which no christian or person purporting to be so, can ignore.
Adam means 'Man'. Adam represents all of Mankind.
He represents all the sinfulness, malevolence, disobedience and rebellious nature to be found in every individual!
