Whenever a council paints double yellow lines, people wrongly assume that this is done for either reasons of safety or to facilitate traffic flow.
When you consider that blue badge holders are allowed to park in these areas, it gives the lie to both of those thoughts.
Persecution of the motorist - just because it pleases them to do so - is the actual reasoning in countless locations!
