Morally and spiritually - this is a no-brainer.
But pragmatically, it is maybe justifiable if
streetwalkers were to move into heavily-controlled, council-run bordellos to cut
out the pimps, the crime, the drugs, the STDs and public safety. The problem would then be those who remained on the
streets. Unless these were to receive very hefty sentences for working
outside official establishments - the idea would inevitably
fail.
My problem with 'the pragmatism' is that I am fed up
with all of the 'slippery slopes' we currently endure as a godless
nation! When I was a Sheffield JP - few indeed were the women
arrested for soliciting who made it as far as the courts. In ten years, the
cases I dealt with could be counted on one hand - with fingers to
spare!
