Scunthorpe Steel.

Weep for the high hundreds of workers of Sunny Scunny who will be losing their jobs after announcements today. How can a mega industry go from 200,000 workers to under 30,000 in the UK? Answer:
1) The EU will not allow government to assist!
2) The Chinese are dumping cheap steel to wreck the market so that they can then put up their prices in a possible near monopoly.
3) Idiotically, governments have followed EU directives and are charging the second highest bills for energy of any nation in the world! (Even so - still 80% more than EU average.)
4) Idiotic levels of business rates.
5) Little control over exchange rates.
Thanks to all you triumphant greens out there. Only problem is - China and India will produce our steel in even filthier conditions! NO GAIN WHATSOEVER!
