Only The USA Gives More In Foreign Aid Than The UK.

This is a fact which should be making us all very proud. 0.71% of our GDP is spent 'helping poorer nations'. Er ... yes ... well ... that would indeed be a matter for pride except - it simply is not true. Our monies go to: China; nations with nuclear weapons programmes; countries with their own space programmes; Brazil; our good pals - Argentina; Hamas and countless nations where corrupt politicians and officials pocket OUR hard-earned taxes. Moreover, the government borrows and puts us further into debt to fund this mess!
Were I to see projects, education, clean water programmes, agricultural aid, immunisation et al all being funded in Malawi, The Gambia, Eritrea etc - you would not hear a peep from me - but that is not at all how it works!
