When I was a teacher, I explained democracy to a great many schoolchildren in this fashion: A democracy is a country in which the losers in any election gracefully accept the result - however much they may dislike it.
The political class in the UK - does it have that level of integrity? - It is beginning to appear not.
The anti-democrats of Brussels have too many anti-democracy friends in the UK.
